PANDORA’S BOX

The captivating allure of self-portraits has always fascinated me. In this transformative experience lies challenge and growth, especially for someone who has suffered from mental health issues. Delving into my inner self was no easy task; it meant confronting long-hidden problems, akin to unlocking Pandora's box and setting free the mysteries and forces concealed for centuries.

Inspired by Frida Kahlo, I embarked on a self-portrait series titled "Pandora's Box." I captured my innermost thoughts and feelings, embracing the butterfly's symbolism. Like Kahlo, I saw this exquisite creature as a representation of transformation and growth—a crucial aspect of personal healing.

Immersed in the comfort of my bedroom, I navigated through a world of emotions, using powerful symbols to express my journey. Skulls and moths emerged as prominent motifs, each embodying life and death—the eternal struggle I face with opposing forces.

The ongoing "Pandora's Box" is an intimate exploration of my inner world, a visual narrative of healing, and a reflection of the resilience found within the human spirit.
